Sundance Comedy ‘Juliet, Naked’ Nabs Late-Summer Release Date

Rose Byrne, Chris O’Dowd and Ethan Hawke star in the film adaptation of Nick Hornby’s novel of the same name.

Sundance comedy Juliet, Naked has landed a late-summer release date.

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions will open the film in select theaters on Aug. 17, followed by a nationwide rollout over Labor Day weekend. They acquired U.S. rights to the movie at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

Jesse Peretz directed Juliet, Naked, which stars Rose Byrne, Chris O’Dowd and Ethan Hawke. The film is based on the book of the same name by Nick Hornby about a fortysomething British couple whose lives are upended by a mostly forgotten American cult rock singer.

Tamara Jenkins, Jim Taylor and Evgenia Peretz penned the screenplay.

Judd Apatow produced Juliet, Naked alongside Albert Berger, Ron Yerxa, Barry Mendel and Jeffrey Soros. Simon Horsman, Hornby, Thorsten Schumacher and Patrick Murray executive produced.
