Watch: Rose McGowan Debuts Trailer for Docuseries ‘Citizen Rose’

Ahead of the Golden Globes, the activist debuted the promo for her upcoming series, which follows her life post-Weinstein scandal.

Rose McGowan is silent no more in the trailer for her upcoming five-part docuseries Citizen Rose, which premiered Sunday ahead of the 75th annual Golden Globes.

McGowan is central figure in the #MeToo movement, having alleged Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted her, and the docuseries will follow the activist’s life post-Weinstein as she encourages women to raise their voices and speak out against their perpetrators.

“I knew others were out there and I knew it was a lot of us,” McGowan says in the promo, acknowledging the multiple women whom have come forward with their history of sexual abuse and harassment. “Being brave doesn’t mean your ankles don’t shake and that you’re not scared.”

The trailer for the upcoming candid series arrives in wake of the #TimesUp movement set to be at the center of this year’s Golden Globes. More than 300 prominent Hollywood women — including Shonda Rhimes, Reese Witherspoon, Ashley Judd, Natalie Portman, Emma Stone, Kerry Washington, Jill Soloway and Donna Langley — launched the initiative to fight systemic sexual harassment in the workplace post-Weinstein scandal.

“Rose McGowan’s courage in addressing sexual abuse and harassment in Hollywood ignited a conversation and inspired other women to speak out against their abusers,” said E!’s executive vp development and production Amy Introcaso-Davis when the show was announced. “We look forward to taking viewers inside this talented, dynamic woman’s world as the first allegations unfold and she becomes a leading voice in a critical cultural change.”

Citizen Rose will premiere Jan. 30 on E!
