The ceremony, hosted by ‘The Daily Show’s’ Hasan Minhaj, honored superstar venues, festivals, promoters and others who pushed touring to new heights in 2017.
The touring business is booming — in large part thanks to industry giants like Coachella, Live Nation Entertainment and New York’s Radio City Music Hall, which were among the big winners Tuesday night at Billboard‘s annual Touring Awards and conference in Los Angeles.
Hosted by The Daily Show‘s Hasan Minhaj at the Montage Beverly Hills, the ceremony honored superstar venues, festivals, promoters and others who pushed touring to new heights in 2017, a year that looks set to end with a record $25 billion in spending, according to estimates. As previously announced, Everytown for Gun Safety took home the special Humanitarian Award for its efforts in preventing gun violence.
The ceremony came after a sold-out day of events and panels featuring the likes of Diplo and country power couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, this year’s recipients of the Legends of Live award and Billboard‘s recent cover stars. The conference continues Wednesday.
